The Texas Economy Is Strong

Texaplex

What is the Texaplex?
David Winans coined the term "Texaplex" to describe the triangular region of Texas that contains 75% of the state's population. Watch the video and see why everyone is talking about the Texaplex.

The Texaplex Project
The global financial crisis is a vicious cycle. The more we hear and talk about it, the worse it gets. However, in spite of all the national bad news, Texas is prospering! Texas, and in particular the Texaplex, has some pretty impressive facts that most Texans weren't even aware of. This video is part of the Texaplex project which has set out to change that.

Did you know that the Texas Real Estate market is one of the strongest in the nation? Did you know that half of all new jobs created in the US were in Texas?

Watch the video and visit the website for more details.

Keith - Things are going great now, but a look of the Federal Reserve's leading indicators for Texas are scary.  You can check them out here

Keith,

Great Post!!! I just reposted on my personal outside blog. We do have opportunity here because we have price points for all incomes. I grew up in San Antonio and have spent a lot of time in "Port A" and know what a wonderful part of Texas you live in. I think it is going to be that great Texas Spirit that will help our country pull ourselves up by our boot straps and move forward.

Check out my latest post.  Where have all the 12th Men Gone????

I don't know if you are a sports fan but if so you might like this Texas A&M call for all Americans to get out and get the work done.

Have a great week!

Thank you for the comments.  The video contains lots of great info.  In a world with plenty of bad economic news, it is refreshing to hear positive news about Texas.  The pdf on their website needs to be shared as well.  Spread the good news from every mountain top / hill top in the Lone Star State.

The image below speaks volumes.  This was part of a presentation I that I attended last week.  Southern Living Magazine announced the 2009 "Idea House"  in Port Aransas/Mustang Island, TX.

Keith -

Hooray for optimism!  Hooray for Texas!  All that data verifies that there is no better place to invest and no better investment than Texas real estate... even if you're just investing in your own real estate.  The $1500 tax credit for improving your primary residence with new windows is one of the smartest investments a homeowner can make and it helps the real estate values because it's such a significant improvement in the appearance and energy efficiency.  If you crunch the numbers provided by the D.O.E. and add the $1500 tax credit you'll see that a $10,000 investment in energy efficient windows on their typical home for our region ends up costing only $49.99 after three years... based on their data.

I liken it to taking money out of one of your pockets and putting it into your other pocket... not someone else's... it's spreading the wealth within your your own portfolio.

So, tell your clients who are buying a new home as their primary residence to capitalize on the $1500 tax credit immediately.  Actually, tell all your clients, friends and relatives to visit my website for information on the tax credit http://www.windstormwindows.com or call me at 1-800-738-0000

I thought the Texaplex was from Amarillo to El Paso to McAllen to Houston and back to Amarillo???  Just kidding.  Great piece you wrote Keith.  This is shaping up to be an incredible year for me here in Houston.  Go Texas!

David,

Now that is impressive!  You are to be congratulated.  The video captures so many positive elements about our state.  The ActiveRain community in Texas and beyond has really responded.  Gov. Perry must like the message as well.  Keith

Thanks Keith and congratulations on being featured on the ActiveRain site!  I received a call today from the Republican Party of Texas that will show the video at a conference in Austin on Saturday morning. I am the self appointed cheerleader of Texas and it is a great job to have!
