Despite weather channel reporter Jim Cantore reporting from our beach, Dolly only dealt a glancing blow. Category 2 Hurricane Dolly came ashore Wednesday afternoon on the South Texas Coast near Port Mansfield. The Corpus Christi area received plenty of rain 4" to 8" depending upon location. Peak wind gusts were in the 50 mph range. Tides were 2' to 3' above normal.
