PORT ARANSAS, Texas - Today marks the beginning of the Annual SandFest in Port Aransas. The Corpus Christi Caller Times featured a story this morning with the schedule of events and other important details. That story is available here. Much needed rain may be in the area today and perhaps again on Saturday, but this event is in full swing and the crowds will come see the wonderful sculptures...rain or shine.

That is simply fantastic!
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Hey Keith - I have been to a couple of these sand sculpture events. It is amazing what a pile of sand can become!!
Charles & Dan - Thanks for the comments. I just got back from the beach and things are really taking shape. The rain stayed well to our North today in the Austin/San Antonio area. There will be some amazing sculptures this year. I'll make it a point to post some photos. KM
We have one of those in Galveston too. They have ben bringing in sand to add to the shoreline since Ike. Will be interesting.
