Work on the new golf course continues.  Construction crews are preparing for the new bridge span to be installed with a heavy-lift crane.  The bridge over Hwy 361 will allow golf carts to travel from the clubhouse and the first three holes on the bay side of the island to the 15 holes that are located amongst the dunes on the beach side.  Arnold Palmer will play the first round on the course later this spring.

The signage and landscaping at the entrances will attract plenty of attention when the Spring/Summer visitors arrive for their beach vacations. 

The roads and infrastructure have been completed and initial lot sales are underway.

The annual sand sculpting festival with professional sculptors from around the US starts today on the beach in Port Aransas, TX.  This has become a huge family event.  Area Realtors are hosting a number of open houses this weekend to show vacation beach homes to the many second home buyers that will join the ranks in the SandFest crowd.

The State of Texas held a land auction yesterday in Port Aransas.  The auction was for a 34 +/- acre tract located on the East side of Hwy 361 just North of Beach Access Rd 1-A.  The land was purchased by an out of town party for $4.25M
